The Czech University of Agriculture Prague , Czech Republic,
was established in 1996. It is a leading educational centre in the in the
Czech Republic. It has ix faculties 1. Economics and Management, 2. Agronomy,
3. Technical, 4. Forestry, and 5. Institute of Tropical and Subtropical
Agriculture and 6. Institute of Education and Advanced Studies offer bachelor,
master and doctoral education for more than 11 000 students both in regular
and part-time study programmes; about 600 of pedagogic and scientific staff
and technicians work at the instition. The Faculty of Economics and Management
educates specialists in management, economy, business, finance, banking,
insurance, informatics, trade. In its research and advisory work the faculty
focuses on the needs of the agrarian sector in the whole range of business
activities and social and environmental inclusions. The Faculty has 5.500
full-time Bc and MSc students and 160 PhD students, including students from
abroad. All studies are based on managerial, economic and social disciplines,
but also mathematics, statistics, informatics, operational analysis, psychology,
sociology and languages are incorporated in the curriculum. The Faculty is
a dynamic and developing institution employing highly qualified teaching
staff and research, exploiting intensive contacts with professional communities
and universities in the Czech Republic and worldwide.
As particularly important the Faculty considers: (1) participation in 6th
EU framework programmes, (2) coordination and/or participation in projects
PHARE, MINERVA, Grundtwig, Socrates - Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Copernicus,
COST, (3) individual membership of the staff in international councils,
organisations and communities, (4) visiting lectureships of the staff abroad
and of foreign lecturers at the university, (5) organisation of conferences,
seminars, workshops and summer schools at the Faculty. |
