![]() | Building Bridges registered for the Baltic Challenge Award 49 projects participate in the Baltic Challenge Award 2007Best ICT solutions in categories Innovation and eGovernance will be awarded with 5.000 €, sponsored by the Innovation Centre Innoeurope. The winners will be announced at the Baltic Challenge Award’s Event in November 6 - 8, 2007, during the annual Innovation Conference INNOESTONIA 2007 in Tallinn.Of the 48 participants an astonishing number come from Poland, that presents the impressing number of 22 contestants. Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden present six projects each, together with participants from Estonia, Finland, Denmark and Ukraine. Participating projects represent excellent ICT solutions for different sectors, such as Infrastructure & Access, Business Development, Culture, Tourism, Online Security, Education, Governance & Administration, Health, Emergency Response & Prevention, and Environment. In the Baltic Challenge 2007, most applications are found within Business Development and Education, followed by Governance & Administration and Infrastructure & Access. The projects are evaluated by an international jury consisting of senior experts in the field of applied ICT. The evaluation is based upon a number of criteria such as user need, innovation and market potential. The Baltic Challenge Award’s Conference & Event in Tallinn will highlight successful ICT solutions from the Baltic Sea Region, in the presence of a unique gathering of experts, entrepreneurs and innovators. The event includes seminars; an exhibition of nominated ICT projects and a prize ceremony and banquet. The Baltic Challenge Award’s Conference & Event is an opportunity to meet, discuss, exchange knowledge, find new partners and build useful networks, all with the aim to create a strong and united ICT market, built on co-operation, partnership and exchange of knowledge in the Baltic Sea Region. The Baltic Challenge 2007 is launched by the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, in co-operation with the City of Tallinn and Innovation Centre Innoeurope, and partners in most countries in the region. Innoestonia 2007 includes the Baltic Development Forum, The BaltMet Inno conference and many more, and will gather regional leaders, experts, entrepreneurs and innovators taking the opportunity to meet, discuss, exchange knowledge, find new partners and build useful networks.
